EDINBURGH
For five years - between 2002 and 2006 - It's Alright For Some produced nearly 50 comedy shows at the Edinburgh Fringe working primarily with new acts, but also with comedy greats such as Bernie Clifton.
Some of the shows were very, very good, and a few of them very, very average. Highlights include:
- 2003 Perrier Best Newcomer Gary Le Strange - Polaroid Suitcase
- 2005 Perrier Award Nominee Jeremy Lion: What's The Time, Mr Lion
- 2005 Perrier Best Newcomer Nominees Toulson and Harvey
- And Dan Tetsell's Sins of The Grandfather - recipient of the first ever Writers Guild Award for Best Comedy Writing, also in 2005 (it was a very good year.)
Other notable, but un-awarded performers It’s Alright For Some worked with in Edinburgh include Natalie Haynes, Robin Ince, Milton Jones, The Consultants, The Krankees and 4 years of Bad Play and The Trap.
Here is a year by year account of events:
